Hi. I’m Michelle. A Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), art lover, karaoke aficionado, elder millennial, and former expert-level anxious person.
Let’s be real, life gets heavy.
The word “suffer” actually comes from the Latin sufferre, meaning to carry. And for many of us, suffering has meant hauling heavy emotions. Therapy can be a place to put some of it down with someone who truly understands how hard it’s been.
I know, because I’ve been there, too. I know the distressing body sensations, the isolation, the cycles of low mood and worry, and the disheartening fear that things will never get better. I also know what it’s like to begin the messy, beautiful work of healing. I know first-hand that it’s possible to feel more grounded, more connected to yourself and your loved ones, and more yourself again.
I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) (CRPO licence 19193) and an MA Counselling Psychology student. I am completing my clinical hours under the supervision of Fatima Murtaza, MSW, and Zahra Haji, RP (whom I call your grand-therapists). Therapy with me is a warm, light, empowering space where you can reflect and reconnect. You’ve done a great job so far, but you don’t need to carry everything on your own.
Support for anxiety, low moods, ADHD, life changes, relationship stress, burnout, grief, and trauma recovery. Together we’ll soothe your nervous system, process emotions, and build resilient habits that last.
Tailored support with humour and humanity.
My Approach
We’ll start with what’s already true for you—your story, strengths, and values—and build from there. My work blends evidence-based practices with curiosity, compassion, humour, and lived understanding. I draw from somatic therapy, CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and IFS to calm the nervous system and deepen self-connection. Sessions are collaborative and nonjudgmental, with enough structure to steady you and flexibility to follow what matters. Together, we’ll turn insight into clear, values-aligned steps and skills you can use between sessions. Our process will be collaborative and customized—together we’ll find a rhythm that feels right for you.
Somatic Therapy: Healing Through Mind-Body Connection
A body-based approach that recognizes how emotional stress and past experiences can show up physically. This therapy employs tools such as breathwork, grounding, and body awareness to explore and gently shift patterns of stored stress and trauma.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Understanding and Shifting Patterns
A structured approach that explores how thoughts, emotions, and behaviours interact. It can help us identify unhelpful patterns and negative beliefs and experiment with more balanced ways of thinking and responding.
Person-Centred Therapy: You’re the Expert About You
Grounded in respectful, attuned connection, this therapy treats you as the expert on your own life. As we slow down and centre your values, this approach supports self-understanding and empowers choices that align with who you are and what matters most.
Mindfulness Practice: Noticing More, Reacting Less
Mindfulness involves noticing thoughts, emotions, and body sensations with curiosity and compassion. It can help create space between feeling and reacting, supporting emotional regulation and greater presence.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT): Become Flexibile
Rather than avoiding or suppressing difficult emotions, ACT can help us relate to them with greater flexibility and self-compassion, while taking values-guided actions. ACT can be beneficial when avoidance and rigid thought patterns cause distress.
Internal Family Systems (IFS): Befriending Your Inner Parts
Rather than fighting with your feelings, IFS helps you meet them as parts with good intentions who hold past burdens. IFS can help unblend from intense emotions, build trust inside, and let your core Self guide next steps.
Inner trust and safety to move toward what matters.
Flexible evening and weekend appointments. Insurance receipts provided for reimbursement from your provider.
